WHEREAS the Egyptian Government require immediate telegraphic communication by submarine cable between

253 Suez and Suakin:

AND WHEREAS the Company are prepared to supply such communication forthwith at their own cost on the conditions hereinafter mentioned:

IT IS HEREBY AGREED as follows:-----

Article 1. The Company will at their own cost provide submarine telegraphic communication between Suez and Suakin as promptly as possible, and will work and maintain the same in good condition (saving cases of force majeure) for the term of this Agreement.

Article 2. The Egyptian Government will grant all needful authorization and protection to the Company's Cable, and to their staff at Suakin, and the use of any land or suitable building, being the property of the Government and at their disposal, which may be required by the Company for telegraphic purposes at that port.
